The participant will explore barriers to effective lockout, preparation and confirmation of controls, pre-lockout steps, the isolation of energy, post-lockout steps, verification prior to re-energizing the system, and returning the system back on line.
Topics Include: Review of the Act, the hazard identification process, hazard controls and where they should be implemented with specific discussions about machine safeguarding. Discussions centre on the hierarchy of controls and the CSA Z432 standard, machine safeguards, maintenance and rescue planning.
