Topics include: elements of a visual and operational daily inspection, principles of safe operation, stability of the bucket truck during set up, hazard recognition, accident avoidance and emergency and rescue procedures. Participants will also review the Occupational Health & Safety Act in order to understand their legal responsibilities as an operator.

Topics include: Hazard analysis, legislative review, elements of the visual and operational inspection, including attachments and slings. A basic machine setup procedure will be discussed, safe use of the auger attachment, safe slinging, and rigging procedures, calculating the weight of a load and general safe work procedures.

Lift Truck Refresher Training (Experienced Operators ONLY)

Topics include: elements of a visual and operational daily inspection, principles of safe operation, operation around pedestrian traffic, stability of the lift truck, safe battery and/or fuel tank exchange, hazards when refueling diesel tanks, hazard recognition and accident avoidance, including topics required under CSA Standard B335-15.

Skid Steer Operator

Topics include: elements of a visual and operational daily inspection, principles of safe operation, legislative requirements and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are reviewed. We will present various machine specifications, vehicle and load stability, and procedures for safe loading, unloading and traveling with loads. We discuss the importance of working safely around pedestrians, proper excavating and leveling practises and common causes of workplace accidents and fatalities using a skid steer.
